Tough night in Stockholm

Gunnar faced the very experienced Rick Story (25 fights, 16 UFC) for the main event at UFC Fight Night in Stockholm last Saturday. After a 5 round war the decision went to the judges who scored it for Story with a split decision. Gunnar will take a lot from this fight and make good use of these 25 minutes of learning material. He is very thankful for the great honor the got by headlining UFC in Sweden and for the great reception he got in Stockholm.

Gunnar vs Rick

The fighters gave each other great credit after the fight. Rick said he knew Gunnar’s ground game was second to none. "I wasn't going to underestimate Gunnar. He's a great opponent. He's a stud. I have the highest respect for him. I respect his ground game so much and look at my face. He tagged me quite a bit," Rick told UFC commentator Dan Hardy after the fight. "He's definitely quick, and normally when you hit opponents, you get an expression. He's got the toughest poker face in the game. No emotion."

Gunnar said Rick was a very tough puzzle and even though it was a close fight he was happy for Story and the decision. "I'll have to go back to training camp and see where I go from there," Gunnar said. "I definitely am going to learn so much from this fight. I think everything happens and you take it and learn from it. I'm happy with this fight and glad for Rick Story. I knew it was a pretty close fight, but I'm happy with the decision."

Now we will have to wait and see where Gunnar goes form here but he will defiantly come back stronger then ever.
