What a night in Dublin!

UFC Fight Night in Dublin last Saturday was truly a night to remember. What an amazing results for Gunnar and his teammates at MJÖLNIR Iceland / SBG Ireland as all their four fighters on the card won by finishes. It started with Paddy Holohan 1st rd. submission (RNC) win over Josh Sampo. You could never tell this was Paddy's UFC debut. Cathal Pendred also submitted his former TUF teammate Mike King with a RNC in the 2nd rd. after the most epic comeback in UFC history. Cathal got dropped by a powerful straight right in the 1st rd. but survived both that and and deep sunk in RNC and an armbar attempt. In the 2nd rd. Cathal took Mike's back and put him to sleep with at RNC. In the the main event Conor McGregor TKO'ed Diego Brando with strikes in the 1st rd. and Diego never stood a change against Ireland's most popular athlete.

Gunnar's fight against Zak Cummings was the co-main event and the crowd in the O2 Arena in Dublin was phenomenal! The reception that Gunnar got was something else and Gunnar said after the fight that it was the greatest crowd he had ever fought for. The fighters spent the 1st rd. feeling each other out on the feet with neither of them landing any significant strikes. In the 2nd rd. Gunnar stepped up the pace landing some good straight rights before taking Zak down after Zak grabbed Gunni's right foot after Gunni landed a good kick to his body. Gunni then pulled Zak to the ground, quickly took his back and put in the body triangle. He then soften Zak up with some powerful strikes, both the the body and head, and sunk in the RNC submitting Zak 4:48 min. into the 1st round. Great win and Gunnar stays undefeated in his MMA career after 14 fights and goes to 4-0 in the UFC.

Gunnar and Conor won Performance of the Night bonuses and Cathal got the Fght of the Night bonus. Gunnar said in the post press conference that he though UFC should give their coach, John Kavanagh, a performance bonus too as all of his 4 fighters won their fights on the night and took all the prize bonuses. What a night in Dublin!
